Birthday Frequently Asked Questions
+ How does a typical party run?
The first hour is open play and organized activities in our party room. For example, we may construct the longest bridge together, build a giant castle, or race robots to the finish line in team-based activities. After the activities, we serve your guests with pizza and cake and sing Happy Birthday.
+ What time should my guests and I arrive for my party?
You should arrive about 10 minutes before your scheduled party time and your guests should arrive promptly at the designated time. If you are doing some of your own set up, you should arrive approximtely 30 minutes before your scheduled party time.
+ Will there be a staff member available to assist me in the party room?
Yes – two staff members will be available to assist you in the party room.
+ Can I order extra pizza for the adults?
Yes, that is an option for our Gold package only.
+ How do I schedule a Genius Gems party?
Please use our on-line reservation system.
+ Is a deposit required? What is the cancellation policy?
A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your party. The balance is due on or before the day of your event. Please see our concessions desk when you first walk in to make payments. Please note no personal checks or cash will be accepted for the balance of payment. We take all major credit cards.
If for any reason you cannot attend your party on the scheduled date, please contact us as soon as possible so we can try to find an alternative time to host your party.
Any party cancelled within 1 week of the event/party date will be expected to be paid in full regardless of whether the party goes ahead or not, excluding any extras.
+ Is my party private or will my guests share the space with guests from other parties or the general public?
Your party is 100% private. There will not be any other people from any other parties or from the general public in the party room while you are there. This allows our staff to focus solely on your group and to make the occasion special for your child. Please note that the general public is permitted in the main playspace and other areas of Genius Gems during the party.
+ What assistance do you provide in the party room?
Our staff will be leading exciting and customized activities in the party room. They will also assist with picking up items and tidying up during the party. We will set up the party room with our standard paper products. We will collect birthday presents in the party room for the guest of honor when your guests check-in. During your time in the party room, we will be there to provide more supplies or drinks, take care of spills, and check in with you from time to time to see if you need anything else.
+ When should I give the final head count for kids and adults?
One week before the party, please e-mail us to confirm your final headcount.
+ Can I bring in outside food?
Yes, but please let us know ahead of time so we can have the necessary tables ready to go.
+ Can I use my own decorations and/or paper products in the party room?
For any of our packages, you may choose to bring your own paper products and/or decorations (including balloons). To preserve the integrity of our party room, we do not permit wall or ceiling decorations, streamers, silly string or confetti. Piñatas, while awesome, are not allowed.
+ What if I am late for my scheduled party time? What if my Guests are late?
We understand that circumstances happen, however, our parties start promptly at the scheduled time. Since there may be other parties scheduled after your party time, we may be unable to extend your party time. If your party begins after your scheduled time due to waiting for late guests, you will have less time in our space.
