+ Are reservations required?
We strongly encourage on-line reservations, which are less expensive than walk-up prices and help us optimize your experience. If you arrive without a reservation, we will make every effort to accommodate you, but there is no guarantee you will gain entry until space frees up.
+ Does a parent/guardian need to be with my child at all times?
Yes, as a general rule, parents and caregivers must attend to their child(ren) at all times. We are not a drop-off play space or day care, and all adults are responsible for the well-being and behavior of the child(ren) in their care.
We also offer classes, when you may drop off your child who is 3 and up, though most parents choose to hang out in our parents' lounge and mingle. Parent date nights are like classes in this regard.
+ What is the age range at Genius Gems?
Our activities are open to all ages. Currently, our classes are designed for children ages 2-12. In the evenings, we offer teen nights, college nights, and special events for adults.
+ What are magnetic tiles and are they safe?
Magnetic tiles are plastic tiles with built-in magnets that allow them to stick together. They are designed for children aged 3 years and up.
At Genius Gems, we take safety seriously. We partner with our guests to help enforce these rules:
- All projects must be safely built (1) on tables or (2) on the ground in specially designated areas only.
- Any tiles that fall to the ground must be picked up immediately.
- Parents/caregivers are required to supervise their children at all times.
+ Do I have to sign a waiver?
Yes. For insurance purposes, every parent/guardian that enters Genius Gems must sign a waiver for any child under the age of 18 that is under their care. No exceptions. Genius Gems has the right to refuse entry if a parent or guardian does not sign a waiver. Birthday Party hosts are responsible to have their guests sign the waivers as well.
+ Are the tiles clean?
Cleanliness is a top priority to us. We scrub our collection with soap and water every week, and more frequently as needed. One of the benefits of magnetic tiles is that they perfectly flat on all sides. That makes them easy to keep clean and hygienic.
+ Do I have to take off my shoes to play?
No, you may keep your shoes on at Genius Gems.
+ Is there a place to put my personal belongings?
We have areas to put jackets and shoes should you wish to remove them, but we ask that you take responsibility for your personal belongings.
+ Do you offer day passes?
No, general admission tickets are valid for 2 hours based on your reservation time.
+ What types of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. No cash or personal checks are accepted.
+ Do you sell magnetic tiles?
Yes, you can purchase them in our store.
+ Are you a nut-free / allergen-free facility?
We are not a nut-free facility, although we strive to be sensitive to the needs of those with nut and other allergies. Please be aware that we use a commercial coffee machine in our space, and may steam dairy and nut-based milk products from time to time. We also offer a variety of nut-free, dairy-free and gluten-free prepackaged foods for sale in our space, in addition to foods that contain nuts and dairy. Our guests may bring outside foods into our space that contain nuts, dairy and other allergens. We strongly urge you to bring an EpiPen® with you if you or your child has a known allergy.
