Spring 2019 STEM ClASSES (ages 2-12)
Spring STEM classes for your future scientist! Spring Science Discovery, Robotics & Coding, Kitchen Chemistry, Engineering & Maker, 3D Printing & more! Ages 2-12. Trial Class Policy

Classes will begin the week of April 8 and run for 7-8 weeks.

SPRING SCIENCE DISCOVERY (with gardening! ages 2-4 with a caregiver)
It’s time to experiment! Young children naturally love experimenting and discovering the world around them. How do plants and flowers grow? What do herbs and vegetables taste like when they’re ripe? Why do bees make honey? In this class, children will participate in exciting spring science experiments. Children will help grow herbs and plants and even get to taste them in our Genius Gems sensory garden!
Monday class runs April 8 - June 3 and costs $175 + tax.
Tuesday class runs April 9 - June 4 and costs $200 + tax.
Engineering & Maker Class: Ages 4-6 (Fridays at 4 PM)
Calling all makers and future engineers! Learn how to make LED paper circuit flowers, design and test your own egg drop device and build a motor bot! STEM activities will be different from the previous semester. This is a drop off class.
Class runs April 12-June 7 and costs $200 + tax.
Kitchen Chemistry: Ages 4-6 (Mondays at 4 PM)
Calling all future chemists! Using everyday kitchen materials, children will conduct experiments and learn about chemical reactions. STEM activities will be different from the previous semester. This is a drop off class.
Class runs April 8 - June 3 and costs $175 + tax.
STEM Enrichment: Ages 4-6 (Thursdays at 10:45 or 1:45)
Students will engage in hands-on STEM challenges, including robotics, chemistry, engineering challenges. Skills emphasized in this class include social-emotional development, teamwork, literacy and math skills. STEM activities will be different from the previous session. *Perfect for students attending afternoon preschool or looking for STEM enrichment. This is a drop off class.
Class runs April 11 - June 6 and costs $200 + tax.
NEW: Med School STEM Ages 5-7 (Wednesdays, 4:30) (Sold out)
Future doctors, learn about the human body and how it works! In this exciting new course, students will engage in hands on experiments to learn about how the different parts of the body work. Design balloon lungs, a pumping heart and a system of blood vessels! Ages 5-7. This is a drop off class.
Class runs April 11 - June 5 and costs $200 + tax.
Coding & Robotics: Ages 6-9
(Tuesdays at 3:30 or 4:30 pm; Thursdays at 4 pm or 5 pm)
Learn how to code with Lego Mindstorm, MIT-designed Scratch, Sphero and more! The real world requires creative thinkers and problem-solvers! Students will learn an introduction to robots and how they work, and the learn the basics of coding in an engaging, hands-on way. Activities will be different from the previous semester.

Thursday’s class runs April 11 - June 6 and costs $200 + tax.
Engineering & Design Studio (with 3D Printing): Ages 8-12, Wednesdays 4:30-5:15
Calling all engineers and designers! Learn about the engineering design process, as well as an introduction to 3D printing and design! Through a series of engineering projects, students will build and design prototypes, and create 3D printed pieces using our 3D printing software and printers. Activities will be different than the previous session. The cost is $200 plus tax per child.
Class runs April 10 - June 5 and costs $200 + tax.
South Mountain STEM: Grades K-3, Tuesdays 3:00-4:15
Students will learn an introduction to robots and how they work, and the learn the basics of coding. Genius Gems staff will pick up students from the South Mountain Elementary School and bring them to Genius Gems for a STEM program until 4:15.

Homeschool Robotics + Drop-in Building!
Students will learn an introduction to robotics and engineering in this exciting and hands on class. Siblings are welcome for drop-in play while their older siblings are in class. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested in joining.
